HILL
Viv was born from a small agricultural reality. A small winery passed down for generations, the vineyards all around the house. It comes from the care and attention towards our unique territory, from the passion for good, artisanal wine, the one made like my great-grandfather once made.

Viv is like the vine, with its roots deep in this ground. Viv is the rediscovery of our origins, the story of a Piedmontese family that has always been rooted on this hill. The cellar, which can be reached through a quiet country road, away from traffic. The view from North to South, of which we never get tired.

We are in the Astesana area, between the Langhe and the Monferrato Astigiano.

NATURE

We strongly believe that everything that nature is capable of doing, we do not need to do ourselves. Our agricultural philosophy has long been based on minimal intervention.

Wild orchids and gladioli flourish among our rows, roe deer come to hide their young among the vines, birds build their nests among the vines, hares run trying to escape the foxes, wild boars walk around, aerating the ground with their snouts. looking for roots and earthworms. And that's just what you see.

What you cannot see is the infinite microcosm of life that animates the soil, from the roots of the herbs (each with its own peculiarities), to the insects, mushrooms and thousands of organisms and microorganisms, algae and bacteria.

All of our work is structured with respect for biodiversity.
HARMONY
All the work strictly necessary for the vine production cycle, from pruning to harvesting, is carried out manually. Work with mechanical aid is down to the bare minimum. The grassy soil is worked by the roots of wild herbs and vines, avoiding erosion and increasing the humic mass. No fertilization is carried out. The defense against pathogens occurs exclusively with the use of copper and sulphur, often with the addition of a macerate or decoction of medicinal herbs found on the farm.
The harmony that is created is that optimal situation in which nature is able to express itself at its best and where man's commitment is solely intended to regulate everything to arrive at the harvest. The optimal situation occurs suddenly, when you realize that production automatically relates to the characteristics of the vintage, determining the maximum expression of the characteristics of the product each time.
