THREE GENERATIONS OF WINEMAKERS

Viv Winery is the story of three generations of winemakers, that unfolds on a hill of San Marzano Oliveto, a rural town in the area of Monferrato Astigiano. In the 1950's, there was great-grandad Caligaris Giovanni, with one hectare of vineyard, making a small production of wine to be sold to locals under his own name. In the 1990's his grandson, Alessandro, expanded the property to reach 3 hectares of vineyards and converted to an environmentally friendly agriculture, inspired by the philosophy of Masanobu Fukuoka. Today, Ilaria, together with her dad Alessandro, her sister Valentina, and her mum Claudia, makes natural wines that are a true representation of the grapes and of our territory and reflect her vision of a sustainable future.
